The Wearable Baby Monitor

 The Wearable Baby Monitor

Babies are very delicate and need constant care. When the baby is an infant, it’s the toughest times for the parents as the slightest hint of discomfort from the baby can keep the parents awake for several hours. To help the parents, Arturas Vaitaitis has invented MonBaby, a wearable baby Monitor. Unlike most of the baby monitoring gadgets available in the market that requires a suit to be worn, this simply is in the shape of a large button which sticks to babies cloth and does not disturb the baby. This monitoring device has a built-in MEMS 140 bit Accelerometer that help track motion, orientation of the baby, track the babies breathing and also the babies activity level. All these details are recorded 5 times every second and then sent via Bluetooth to a Smartphone that would have the companion app installed. After retrieving this data on the smartphone, it displays all the information in real time. It displays information such as if the baby is sleeping on its stomach or back, if the baby is about to wake up or if the baby is tossing and turning. You can set specific alerts pertaining to certain conditions like when the baby wakes up, falls from the crib or stops breathing. To make tracking easier, Monbaby stores all the information that is collected on cloud. Users can then access this data via the web to gain a better idea on babies sleep pattern and can also be used to share this analysis with the doctor. This device is powered by a 3 volt battery. The company assures that this battery shall be good for five weeks with real time monitoring and 1 year if it’s in passive mode.
