Oculus Rift Redefines 3D Gaming

How cool would it be to play your favourite game in 3D and feel everything real close to you? You bet it’s going to be insane. For this reason, Oculus has launched a new device called the Rift. It is a virtual reality head mounted display developed by Oculus especially for Gamers. As per our sources, we are expecting this product to be launched during the first quarter of 2016.

Oculus had announced a dev kit version of the Rift in August 2012. The first prototype came with a 5.6 inch screen but the Rift Dev Kit came with a 7inch screen. The LCD was bright and it has 24bits pixel colour depth. Because of this 7inch screen, stereoscopic 3D does not overlap. Both left and right eye have extra area to see. It has a FOV(Field of View) of 90 degrees horizontally and 110 degrees diagonal. It has a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. Because of this amazing aspect ratio, each eye gets a resolution of 640x800. The head set weighs around 379 grams and does not include headphones. It has a dial on each side which allows you to adjust each display by moving closer or farther away from the eyes. In 2013, June, the Rift was shown with a 1080pixel at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. The new kit is believed to come with a motion tracking camera which will allow greater movement within the Rift. When it’s ‘ON’, it displays a blue light with the logo but it’s not visible to the naked eye.
