      go on Ebay. Just type in MINI tripods and there’s a bunch for sale for like 9 bucks. Has a gimble top on it. I plan to purchase one pretty soon so I can have a handle for my homemade.

      well he was just showing the principle of it. I don’t think he was aiming for perfection. As you can see, the handle of the mini tripod doesn’t have enough space between that and the monopod, so there isn’t enough gyro movement with his hands on the handle. ANd I mean, look at all the add-ons he had on it. There’s a more simple way to do it. He was just teasing around with it.

      Except that magic arm (”lighting clamp”) he used costs a good few hundred!!!

      why is it so hard to just ad a bearing to the vertical pipe and a handle? that’s what the glidecam and flycams are

      OK, so how much more than 50 quid is it if you DON’T have the old casio tv laying about.. quite a bit more I would say.

      However, if you just added weight instead it would make a decent steadicam.
