could you thumb both of them up agan having thumbed down comments risks to get banned by youtube

and i guess i have no choice but to either try to get a crt again since im not rich

if i would get a lcd i only have around 190$ wont buy a good lcd but a cheap budget one i meant to spend those money on a cpu cooler cooler master v10 since its my bday in 6 days

so in a way im completely doomed

      Hey taltigolt,

Don’t appologize for expressing your opinion. I never thumb somebody down who can intelligently speak their mind. I just have a lot of over-zealous fans who are a little protective of me. :)

Unfortunately there is no good way to fix scratches in the anti-glare coating of a CRT. Any “miracle fix” will change the refraction index of the material and make for an obvious area of distortion of the screen.

i use a crt ibm p275 170 hz 1920 by 1440 beats any lcd i seen but got a scratch on the anti glare coating and it seems impossible to fix so i been searching around for a good lcd in a good price range like 200$ that can show the same colors as crts

unless i find a way to fix that tiny scratch im doomed im sorry if my comment was bad since it got thumbed down but im just angry that they have so insane prices for lcds that competes with crts

    4. gadgettts says:

      taltigolt,

But the XHD3000, the 30″ LCD reviewed here, is less than $1000. — The 24″ FHD2400, which we reviewed in episode 107, has a response time of sub 2ms, more inputs than a CRT, and a resolution to match, for less than $400.

I attend plenty of LAN parties and IT conferences. NOBODY buys CRTs anymore. That’s why they’re not even made in the states anymore.

    5. taltigolt says:

yea but 2000 dollars is nothing you have laying around

crts still beats the lcds unless you pay over 2000 dollars for a lcd thats what i mean if they lowerd the price for there ultra high end lcds that can compete with a high quality crt fps gamers would buy those instead if you pay 400$ for a lcd you prbably get a shit lcd that cannot compete with a crt

    6. gadgettts says:

      taltigolt,

      I don’t understand your argument.

The largest CRT, the Sony FW900, is only 24″ and has a resolution of 2304×1440. It costs FAR MORE (~$1800 new) than the XHD3000 (under $1000) which is 30″, has a higher resolution (2560×1600), weighs about 50 lbs less, and has a lower response time.

CRT sales in the US are about 5% of LCD sales. Nobody is using them for computers anymore.

    7. taltigolt says:

this is great for the envirement thats why ppls still use crt monitors since no afordable lcd can be the same as lcd to get a lcd that suits youre needs you need to pay 2000 dollars

if they lowerd the ultra high end gflat monitors to around 400$ ppls would stop use crt and buy those

    8. taltigolt says:

      it’s the todays sony FW900

    9. gadgettts says:

      MoonOvice,

I have head about the flickering issue and I’ve actually seen a unit with that problem. In most cases it wasn’t the monitor itself, but the power supply. Annoying problem, especially if it happens AFTER the warranty, but I’m still a big fan of the XHD3000.

    11. misterbig64 says:

it has component, composite, and hdmi. you’d probably use the composite which is the yellow one.

    12. gadgettts says:

      selexore200,

I haven’t noticed any lag with FPS games. There IS a timing problem with rhythm games like Rockband, but that’s just because it’s slower than a standard CRT but faster than a standard LCD. (Adjusting time usually fixes it quickly.)
